Soothing Aloe gel Rub for Sunburns

This is a recipe that I developed for a friend who was out in the sun quite often. She loved how the gel made her skin feel so much cooler. This is a simple way to make your own remedy for sun burns with out having to buy special lotions at expensive prices. This gel absorbs quickly and is not greasy. Since it is a water based gel, it will not make your skin feel hot after applying it. However, if you have a very severe sun burn, you may want to apply the Aloe gel alone, without the other ingredients for a couple of days. Your skin will be very sensitive and may not be able to handle the properties of the oils immediately. You may also try taking a cool bath with a few drops of the peppermint oil added to the water. This will also help to sooth some of the burning.

2-3 table spoons of Aloe gel

5 drops of peppermint and 5 drops of Eucalyptus essential oils

1 vitamin E capsule

Mix well, apply to burned areas. This is most effective if the area has been moistened with cool water before application.

*Warning* Do not apply to blistered areas!
